    Advice Please

Mike, Thanks for the advice! I did go back and add even more highlights to the face, the muscled areas, and his stomach and you know, it did in fact really make a difference with it. It really made those little facial details pop. Which, is the reason I chose to do this one; I was really...

    Advice Please

Hi Folks, Here are some images of figure number two that I am attempting. I was wondering if you guys thought I should add more highlights to the face or would that be overworking it, or have I underworked it? I'm not sure if the photos show enough detail to tell, but I would appreciate any...

    Imperial stormtrooper & dewback

Holy Crap! :o It's so little! Wow, if only I could do that! In fact, I wish I could sculpt like everyone's I've seen here. Is there a book out there that teaches how to do this in more dertail than Paine's book? ( in other words, lots of how to- photos--I'm a visual learner when it comes to...

    Lee´s Legion dragoon

I can't wait until I can hone my skills to the levels of works I've seen thus far. I really like this one, what did you use for the leaf litter on the ground? Looks very convincing! Thanks for sharing! Steve

    Brush Recommendations?

Make sure you take most of the oil off of your brush and keep a light hand. :) Ok, this will sound really stupid of me, but what do you mean by "taking most of the oil off your brush"? You mean as you would if your were dry brushing say, enamels? So that there is very little paint on the...

    Brush Recommendations?

Thanks everyone for the information, I thihnk I'll invest in the brushes you suggested. The only female figure I have is a resin figure and not very large, and to be honest I'm not sure of the scale. It was a bagged kit and I have since then lost the tab. (shame on me) I've been tempted to...

    Brush Recommendations?

I know that the quality of a brush can make or break a figure and my goal within the year is to paint a female figure which will demand no brush strokes or she'll look like hairy mary. So, can anyone here suggest a line of quality brushes, their approx. cost, and a source? I have a set of red...

    My First Figure

I built this for my oldest son, it's an old War Hammer figure painted with enamels and oils. I missed some of the mold seams on this one, live and learn I guess. Best wishes Steve I've enjoyed this site and look forward to returning. :) :thumb:
