    Medieval Crusader Helmet

I doubt if there is any definitive name for it. It is simply one of many types of pot helmet with a flat top. The shape and design would have been quick to form and relatively easy to repair unlike the conical and round top version. More likely to be worn by the more cash strapped crusader...

    My Jack Russell

Fine and healthy looking wee beast. Clearly the bench of a dedicated painter......bespoke toilet paper attachment when you just can't afford to break your concentration.

    display case is full

I'm at the other end of the spectrum. I don't have a single model on display. When I finish painting some are gifted, some are sold, some get butchered for later projects and those that don't meet these fates end up in old boxes and drawers.

    Feeling my age!

On another age related matter. I noticed a nail in my tyre this morning, well into the safe T area and in the thick part of the tread. It was in at a very acute angle and at worst I'd need a puncture repair. Took the car to National and the Kwikfit. Both only gave it a cursory glance told me it...

    Confirming "metallics first" ... ?

I paint the metallic first but if required I use water colourists masking fluid on the primed surrounding areas. When metals are dry simply rub off the masking fluid and carry on with the painting. To be honest a little care and attention to application and drying is usually all that's needed...

    Landsknecht bust

Really like this. At first glance you see Brian's signature style and as you look deeper you see the range of colour used. Definitely one of the best painters of Landsknecht busts in the hobby. D

    Gladiators by Big Child Creatives

Very much in the histo/fantasy genre and right at the top of that style(y) Really works for both disciplines as stated by BCC, and all styles of painting. Be really difficult for any other manufacturer to surpass this. Cheers Derek

    Feeling my age!

Couldn't imagine a more gracious response . But on reflection and in truth the rather thin skinned reaction is wholly down to me. I blame my upbringing ;) Glaswegian of Highlander mother and Borderer father. I could write a thesis on touchiness. :D D

    Feeling my age!

Quite simple, a bit like myself. In the original figure news post the contact link was to an email address (clarified by Jason) and not their website. They posted the link to their website last night so now much more straightforward. In my original post I simply asked Art Soldiers if there was...

    Feeling my age!

In fairness Art Soldiers are 100% legitimate and well established. I see they have now posted a a link directly to their website. They are at the top of the game producing some of the best figures in the hobby these days. As I said all I want is simply to go to a site, pick a figure, pay through...

    Feeling my age!

Rather suspect its not the problem with the companies as such. Simple and probably safest solution is to set up individual accounts but I have difficulty remembering my home address never mind multiple email accounts. Personally I like to keep my online info to the minimum so just like the...

    Feeling my age!

It's just me. I like things simple, just want to go directly to a site or suppliers site, click on something I want, see the payment method and make a purchase. Don't want to enter into an email correspondence. D

    Feeling my age!

The way the whole internet, social media thing has gone has turned me from a pretty savvy person into one who wholly distrusted any situation where I'm expected to provide passwords on to another party. Yesterday I was about to purchase a figure and was required to set up an account, not in...

    New ArtSoldiers

Probably my lack of tech understanding. When I open the link to set up an account I'm asked for my email address, not a problem, but then it requires my existing password.

    New ArtSoldiers

Is there an independent supplier. Looks like you need to set up an account and provide your email address which is ok, but it also requires your email password. Must admit I'm disinclined to provide any password. Beautiful figure. Cheers Derek
