Hi Stu what scale is the French with the flag. A 16 year old Aberlour , well I wish I was there for a taste of that one , my youngest son worked in Aberlour for a couple of years and got a 35 year old for a going away present , that was a bloody belter.

Well at the end of the day it is a very nice figure which has won a lot of medals on the competition trail without anyone moaning about accuracy , is this guy not dressed for a special parade where his uniform might be a bit theatrical .

The olive green is a rather faded colour and is difficult to describe almost with a touch of grey in it . Didn't know the barrels were painted black as all I have ever seen is depicted in bronze.

Unfortunately even with a decent repair it will never be the same and will succumb to rust . Only one way out ,get it repaired and sell :eek:

Not a fan of this technique , but it is a skill just like painting fabric on a garment in 54 mm . At one time a long time ago i remember even adding shadows and highlights was considered over the top :D

Many ways Ralph , you must target your fish or you will only catch minnows , you have got to learn the river in its many guises ,High water, low water , time of year for which flies work best to gaurentee success, learn a bit about entomology , know whats hatching and when . rivers are just...
