Thanks everybody. I'd say it's around 1/9th scale. Yes the helmet and mail were done NMM. I painted little half circles until I was crossed eyed!

All done now. Painted with oils and acrylics. Mat painted with water colors and acrylics.

Looks really nice. I've tried the Winsor Newton water based oils and I didn't like them that much. Grumbacher makes a line of water mixable oils that I think are much better. Still like regular oils better though.:)

Holy Crap! That is fantastic!

I've done some sculpting with castilene wax. It comes in three hardnesses. I just warm it up in a toaster oven to start with and keep a piece in my hand as I work. It stays soft enough to use easily. I also have a wax pen that I don't use that much. Loop and ribbon tools work well with this...

Looks pretty darn good to me.(y) I think painting the cutaway black is the right way to go. Its what I would have done anyway. Bob
