    Saxon Warrior - Latorre Models

My latest work...Although the result is acceptable, the kit I worked on was of miserable quality. Quite a surprise considering the reputation of of its maker. Mould lines were so severe I pretty well had to resculpt sleeves etc. You know the type of mould lines that come from the uneven...

    Frères d'Armes

Well, it's been a long time coming, but I finally completed a figure, or two, in this case. Frères d'Armes means brothers in arms. And I guess my finished vignette says it all. As you probably already know, this subject is from Andrea Miniatures in 54mm. It was a great kit to put together and...

Heading out to see my brother-in-law in London, Ontario, next weekend. I was wondering if there are any good hobby shops there. Specially the ones that sell figures. I know there are a few members of the Planet that reside there. Greetings to all of you and thx :thumb: . Cheers Francis

    Fine detailing with inks

I've heard from some of my figure painting buddies, that inks can sometimes be useful for painting fine details. So, I purchased a few colours. Windsor & Newton make excellent inks. I've tried them , and I must say, I'm impressed. With a fine brush, the ink flows with ease, and the result is...

    British MP WWII

What would be the appropriate colours to use to paint this figures uniform: http://www.verlinden-productions.com/vp_ht...0800/vp0592.htm The plan is to paint the uniform with Humbrol colours. Which ones would be best as base colour, highlights and shadows. TIA Francis

    And

I use to model military vehicules and dioramas. And all of a sudden (sigh!!) space lacked. so, I slowly migrated to figures. Paradoxically, figures were the elements I hated to paint the most back in the days I modelled AFV's. I preferred to present a tank without it's figures just because I...

    And it ain't over

THis is one of the finer kits from Verlinden. Moulded in resin, as usual, at a 120mm scale, this baby has some very exquisite details moulded in the sheepskin coat and pants. Details that jump out the minute you apply a fine dry brushing of gradually lighter brown hews...

    And then..

And it was luv at first site. Moulded in white metal, 90mm in scale, this fine piece took 140 hours to complete (give or take ;) ) For the pavis, I borrowed an idea from an article published in Military Modelling, 7 May 1999, Vol 29, #5, pages 40 and 41, which described how a pavis may look...
