    Ulama Mecha

This is a 'modified' Roberto Chadon bust. The original was a bit disappointing to me. Things seemed hurried in the production. Face painted in oils...the rest in acrylics.

    La Meridiana Great Lakes Warrior

I'm very opinionated about this bust by La Meridiana. I've been quite pleased by this company's previous work on Native Americans. The sculpting of Vaquero was excellent ( in particular the Sioux ) but I find the new sculptor a bit 'wanting'. First the good things about this bust. The casting...

So I think I'm gonna go back to busts....

These are from last year. The Blackfoot is from sorely missed Harton with minor modifications. The Pawnee is classic PM. Pawnee warriors frequently painted their upper eyelids red.

    Every 10 years I do a 28mm

and I think this is my last one. Working this scale with old eyes is not half the fun it used to be. This is a plastic Citadel figure from the Warhammer game. Jo Sanyo, oils, inks and Mr. Metal along with a suitable amount of synthetic sugar....

    The MFCA and The Keystone

What happens when the keystone of a Show decides to call it a day? Vern Minkwitz ( who has been the keystone for quite some time ) is calling it a day. With the success of the new location in Delaware ( which he set up from top to bottom ) he has decided to spend more time painting and...

    Sad news

Just got this from Greg DiFranco: "Folks, I regret to inform you of the passing of Bill Imrie last Monday, after a long bout with Alzheimer’s disease. Of course Bill was one of the most influential Model Soldier makers of our time and it is a big loss to us, especially those of us who...
