Total War by Laura Sheridan from Mindwork

A first stab at Nmm for me. Scalecolor acrylics and inks, brush and airbrush base coats. Thanks to all for the encouragement and feedback. I'm sure I'll try nmm again. Clearly lots of work needed to learn the technique.

This is a nice pair of 1/6 busts of Dean and Sam Winchester from the TV show Supernatural. Released by Pestilence Labs and sculpted by Jeff Yagher. Super clean casting with minimal clean-up and sharp detail. Painted with Scalecolor Drop and Paint and their tube acrylics. These will display...

    Completed Saturday Morning

Sometimes a project comes along that just speaks to you. Michael Berglund contacted me recently about an upcoming release in conjunction with Todd Powell of Escape Hatch Hobbies and was kind enough to ask me to paint a sample for them. With their permission, I'll be able to share a few...

I'm at a stopping point on this one, though I see some things I may revisit. "Vampire's Kiss" from...

    Completed Vampire’s Kiss

Working on this cool composition from Ignis Art, “Vampire’s Kiss.” The parts were beautifully engineered to go together flawlessly. Colors are roughed out, but they will end up much more desaturated by the time I get done, and likely with some moonlight osl. Just working on refining the...

Wanting to Buy Army of the Damned- Mindwork Studios

Hi all- This is an impossible set for me to find, so of course I want one. This vignette in a box was only available through a Kickstarter by Mindwork that I missed. If anyone has one available and will part with it, please let me know. Happy painting! Matt

    US Navy Sailor

Just finished a base for this 1940s era sailor. I had some scrap resin from an old test pour that harndened in the bottom of a cup. Turned over, it makes a good harbor. The bust is about 1/8 scale and comes from Mitches Military Models. Painted in Scalecolor Acrylics.

    King Kong!

Carl Denham: "No, it wasn't the airplanes... It was beauty that killed the beast." A huge 22" 3D printed sculpture by Tony Cipriano, painted in acrylics from Scalecolor and Mission Models, along with a touch of printer's inks and pearlescent craft paint, airbrush and brush. The film is one...

    Quicksand!

A scene from the finale of 1944s House of Frankenstein. The Monster drags the wounded Dr. Neiman into a darkened swamp as enraged villagers (what other kind are there?) burn the brush and trees behind them... Neiman warns him of the danger, gasping, "No, not that way! Quicksand! Quicksand!"...

    WIP King Kong

This is a fun and gigantic piece, designed and 3D printed by Tony Cipriano sculpture. It’s about 1/20 scale but comes in at a whopping 22 inches tall. I’m still thinking about ways to customize it as I work.

These were great fun, and a joy to paint. Available at Blackheartmodels.com. 1/6 scale resin painted in all acrylics, using Scalecolor Artist tube paints and their new 'Drop and Paint' airbrush paint line. I'll throw in a few pics of the entire line which now numbers 21 busts. These last four...

    Completed Jesse, Jackie, and Joe

More outstanding 1/6 busts from Blackheart Models. I’m admittedly not much of a sports fan, but this set of inspirational heroes really speaks to me. Primed in grey and undercoated with verdaccio tones.

Completed More Star Trek from Blackheart Models

The newest of Blackheart’s Star Trek busts! These are super casts of outstanding sculpts. Just a little clean up , primed with grey, then verdaccio undercoat, except for Balok’s puppet where I went right towards the final tones. The only modification made was the addition of the Red Cross...

    "Friend"

A great pair of busts create a classic moment from The Bride of Frankenstein. Sculpted by Jeff Yagher and cast by Paul Gill. Painted in scale color acrylics with a dash of printers inks for metallics. These are big ones, about 1/4 scale.

Finished with these large scale pieces, 1/4 scale resin from Pestilence Labs, sculpted by Jeff Yagher. Painted with Scalecolor tube acrylics, brush and airbrush. The Newspaper prop is a scan to which I added a photo of the Hyde bust in Procreate. I also had some fun playing with the original...
