    Completed Regan MacNeil

1/3 scale bust of Regan from the Exorcist by http://daveskillerkits.tripod.com/home.html For me it was more of an exercise in painting a different type of face~:

Completed "They shall grow not old"

"as we that are left grow old Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn At the going down of the sun, and in the morning We will remember them" Jon Smith Modellbau's tank crewman has always reminded me of a man with his head bowed and hands clasped in prayer; so for a campaign on another...

    Completed Critique Monk

Bunker Miniatures Monk. I've deliberately aimed to portray a man that has not been outside for a long time, and has partaken of too much rich food and wine - the stereotypical medieval monk! (the pinks do not look as vivid in real life - they are exagerated by the camera!)

    British Sniper in Afghanistan

Maurice Corry 120mm figure. I hope I've done it justice - the camera lens is our harshest critic at twice life size! From a couple of feet away it looks fine............. Flesh painted in oils, everything else in Vallejo acrylics. I'm sticking to busts in future as there is fine detail on this...

    Completed Critique B17 Waist Gunner

Young Miniatures bust "B17 Waist Gunner". My first 'from new' figure for a couple of years, although I've done a couple of repaints to practice. A new optician and new specs hopefully will allow me to participate a bit more in future. I'm still not happy with some of the finer work, so resorted...

    E.V.Ball x 2

My latest work. It's a pair of figures sculpted for me by Dan Morton. They represent my late father-in-law, Edward Victor Ball, at two stages in his life - in 1916 when he falsified his birth certificate and joined the Royal Artillery (he got caught and sent back to an Army school for two years...

    Bust - King Henry VIII

This was a commercial souvenier that I picked up on a day out at Leeds Castle in Kent. It was originally in white resin and stands about 3.5" tall. I painted it in oils over acrylics as usual. The jacket front was painted using three different colours in an effort to simulate velvet.

    Legend Bust, WW2 Para

My latest work, as usual in oils over acrylics. The shine is down to the lighting, as the figure is actually matt finished.

    French Guardsman

Hi. It's been a long time since I posted much - summer, kids etc. Just completed MiniArt Guardsman, in oils over acrylics as usual. I used the matchlock from the Musketeer kit (included in this one too).as the blade for the rapier was so badly moulded. Not a bad kit, if you've ever made a...

    Two more riflemen

OK, more dark green for my collection. New Hope Design figures based on the illustrations in the Osprey books these are more 'collector' than modeller in quality but fill a couple of gaps in my collection. Painted in Vallejo acrylics, these will probably be my last 54mm figures - I can hardly...

    Latorre Saxon

Hi guys - after a week without internet access I can at last get back on the web again! This is one of my latest pieces. I wanted to maintain the sombre brooding appearance of the original, but using a different pallette. Painted in oils over acrylics.

    More Airfix - 54mm 'Roundhead'

This is the 'Rounhead' figure from the Airfix set. Oils over acrylics. I'm also experimenting with a 'home studio' kit that I bought on Ebay - softbox & two daylight balanced spots.

    Pegaso 90mm Templar

Hi all. I've had this figure part built for a while now. I haven't changed my opinion of it - it's still one of the most haunting figures I've ever seen; I just had to have one. I found it hard to paint, most of it was done in sub-assemblies and the cloak, arms etc added and painted later. Not...

Wastphalian Guard Hussar - 200mm bust

Hi all, This is Verlinden's 200mm bust of a Westphalian Guard Hussar. As always, in oils over acrylics. First pics with the new camera - my daughter wanted the Minolta for her college course, so I now have a Pentax digital SLR - great improvement.

95th Rifles Officer - Verlinden Bust

This is Verlinden's 200mm 'Officer of the 95th Rifles' - obviously modelled on Sean Beane as 'Sharpe! A great bust, and I'm happy with the result - as usual oils over acrylics.

    Jackson & the Dragoon

Hi Guys, This is a 90mm figure sculpted by Phil Walden of a US Dragoon of 1812 with his cat. Painted as usual in oils over acrylics.
