    Dreyse needle gun

Osprey says 124.5 mm, which seems more reasonable. Still shorter than I thought it would be.

    Dreyse needle gun

My reference says the length of the Dreyse is 1100 mm (43.25 inches). This looks a little short to me, particularly when compared to the Chassepot at 1305 mm. Can anyone (Gary!) confirm or elaborate on these figures please?

    2nd Empire water bottles

I am looking for reference material on French water bottles for the Crimea 1854-56, and also the Franco-Prussian war 1870-71. The pictures I have found are obscure, and I cannot find any measurement detail. Thank you.

    problems found

Titan, can I suggest you get the book "Creating life-like figures in polymer clay" by Katherine Dewey. (ISBN 0-9741530-0-1). Whilst not aimed at the military miniature genre, it is superior to any that are. In my opinion, this book is the most complete step-by-step guide through the whole...

Don't know about those heads Gary, but it is an interesting subject. I was very dissapointed when I purchased the 1/32 Civil War weapons from Wolf to find them seriously smaller than the stated scale. Variations in head sizes are possible, so differences between manufactures can occur (mind...
