"CANELA" new upcoming figure 120mm/ 80mm From Valkyrie Hobby's

I like the figure - sort of Harry Potter meets Victoria's Secret. Not entirely sure if I'm looking at a casting, a computer rendition, or some combination of both. I do hope the glasses are molded in clear resin. As for the IPMS, I'm assuming the comments are directed at their ban on nudity?

Thanks, Tom. I was hoping that someone might take over the business, but I guess time has marched on... Thanks again. Glen

    Red Lancers

Are there any updates in the status of the Red Lancer? The site is still up, but has not been updated. The email system is working (in that my emails are not bouncing back), but there has been no response. I had pending orders going back to last winter. Any info would be appreciated...

Cat Russell Meets The General Grant

... the General, of course, is a traveling clockwork machine designed to instill discipline in individuals where jail (or hanging) might be a bit over the top in the 1880s. The figure is a heavily modified Thunderbird Miniatures Cowgirl, a modified Bayardi resin barrel, and a craft wood flower...

    The Red Lancer Issues

Hi all, Is the Red Lancer having some problems? I sent an order in on late November, but haven't gotten the item or any notification of any problems. My CC has not been charged and they are not responding to emails or answering their phone. I noted the site had not been updated from 11/11/17...

    MaxMini (Poland) - News

An interesting piece. Are you sure it's not 'Fire in the Hole!" "Fire in a Hole" could mean something else entirely; perhaps entailing a trip to the medics... :D

    Draconia - News

Resin according to the header over the pic. Looks like a great figure. Nice action pose instead of a heroic stance gazing off into the distance. And you can practice your makeup techniques...

    Nutsplanet August News!

Looks great! It's on my purchase list. Not sure if the object in her mechanical hand is a robot head or a skull with a face shield. Also an observation: it seems there is a penchant for sci/fi and steampunk figures to have a mechanical arm...

Terrible Kids Stuff releases Hero 1 and Zombie 1

It bears a remarkable conceptual resemblance to this MasterBox injection molded kit: http://www.mbltd.info/24011.htm

Wargamer Games Studio (Poland) - News

Nice stuff. The concept art is very similar to Polish artist Bartek Drejewicz pin-up girls (https://www.facebook.com/bartekdrejewiczilustracje/). Some of Bartek's art has been turned into figures both round and flat. The world just needs more pin-up girls (y)

    Poison Ivy Demi-Ronde Bust

Thanks! The skin tones are Reaper's Tanned Skin Triad mixed 1:1 with the Rosy Skin Triads opposite number - Tanned Shadow : Rosy Shadow, etc. A bit of Pure White to further lighten and a bit of Burgundy Wine to further darken. This is my go-to mix for female caucasian skin. Glen

    Poison Ivy Demi-Ronde Bust

Thanks everyone! I was surprised that it came out as well as it did, since it was never meant to be a paintable figure. A lucky coincidence, I guess. @Wayne: It's a converted key fob. I removed the key ring components and filled the resulting hole in her head with putty and re-sculpted the...

    Poison Ivy Demi-Ronde Bust

This is Poison Ivy of DC comics fame. It is based on artwork by Stanley Lau. The piece is actually a pewter key-ring made by Monogram International, but I'm not sure if it's cast in hot metal or die stamped. I found it in a comic/gaming store. The piece is 2.5 inches tall and is well detailed on...

    Black Veil Models News

I noticed the gun issue as well. I think what the designers were going for is a very rare M1911L designed for left handed shooters (such as myself). Spent cases were ejected away from the body instead of across the face. Unfortunately, the guns are in the wrong hands. Hey... while we're...

    "I, Robot" - Jessica Thunder

Franco, in case no one has answered your question elsewhere: resin, my casting is great - crisp details, no flash, minimal clean-up, five parts: head, torso, mechanical right arm/gun, two pistols to be mounted under armpits (only the head to torso joint may require some minor tweaking, 1/12...

    A Red-Headed Lass Flat

Good luck with it, Nap. Just remember to us the Chestnut Brown or Burgundy Wine sparingly until you get a handle on the mixes. Better to start too light than too dark... (y) Glen

    A Red-Headed Lass Flat

Thanks all! Nap, the paint mixes are Reaper Master Series Acrylics Base: 1:1 Tanned Skin+Rosy Skin 1st Light: 1:1 Tanned Highlight+Rosy Highlight 1st Shade: 1:1 Tanned Shadow+Rosy Shadow I use Linen White for increasing highlights and Chestnut Brown OR Burgundy Wine (both sparingly) for...
