Dear all

What is the best way to outline your figure (ie outline th pockets, buttons etc...) at this scale. Is it best to use a very small brush, paint it black before stating the full painting of the figure. Any ideas would be great

cheers

Hi Matt!

Excuse my question, but do you think SS rank-insignia as an avatar is not even a bit inappropriate?
Sorry for OT.

Cheers

I suggest to use a not-too-small brush, 0 or 1, with a good point and to outline with a very dark shading colour. I wouldn't use straight black. If you're up to it, you can actually make a transition to the outline shade in this scale.

For SS rank insignia you can also use decals by the way...

Hello
I'm not the best, far from that, but this is what I do :
for smaller scale 25mm to 54mm, you can use china inks ( various colors ) with a small pen
the one on the left; be parcimonious and use the top of the dispenser, where it is more fluid and don't take to much at the time, prefereably make a plop of ink on a china
and take ink with the tip of the pen
use brown for white, sand... deep blue for light blue.. ans so on
I never tryed that on larger scale, but always used brushes N°1 with diluted oils, put oil on a cart and add turbentine, mix, use; the mix can be very liquid so be careful
use very small amount on the tip of the brush
Best
