1/10th scale glasses

Hi Guys

Coming to the end of my LCpl Jones bust ...looking at the resin glasses supplied they look over scale in thickness .......so....my question is

How would you make them ?

As in pictures

This is the bust with glasses actually replaced I think as are more curved on nose it was painted by Rob Henden

All suggestions welcome

Real ones are wire, makes sense to replicate them in the same material.

If you are not happy with them Kevin and intend making your own , would it be worth trying to file the pair down first , working the inside and out side rim together . You have nothing to loose .

Thanks for the replies...wire it is ......will be robbing what I can from Jimbo later today ...don't tell him..lol

Chippy ....will try filing outer ( can't do inners there are lens in them ) but even though they are fragile !

I made the glasses on my JonSmith figure from fuse wire and overhead projection film. With a push and die set i made the lenses.

Further to my mentioning Jimbo..who I visited today ...he reminded me I had already asked him for glasses ......last year when I got the others from Tiger Tattoo

Here's the result .......now has been slightly tidied a bit ...really pleased ....

Still to paint the lips !

I think the nose bridge needs to be a bit wider and the glasses set further down the nose , pretty much how I wear mine that's why I see nothing .

Chippy ...possibly but you try making glasses in this scale ! .....Rob Henden sculpted quite a wide nose , going to move them even though it was fiddly enough !!
