Hello all, I finally completed Plamax's Kamakura era samurai in o-yoroi style armor. There was an earlier review of this kit some time ago when it was released and I must say for a mold injection type, the details are quite good. That being said, it took me several months in fits and starts to paint this chap. Although I do enjoy the aesthetics of feudal Japanese armor, their inherent intricacy can be overwhelming when done on a much smaller scale. Overall I'm okay with the results and debated about sticking him on an elaborate base but decided to let the figure speak for itself. I did give him a moustache as a personal preference to give him an older appearance. Color scheme inspired by an old Japanese print from my childhood.
Done mostly with Vallejo, AK Interactive, and Scale75 acrylics.
Cheers!:)

A beautiful paint job, I think I would have to stop and start, as I am not sure I could paint continously in such detail.

He is wonderful. I don't think there is a more eye catching and impressive style of model than Samurai in the older o-yoroi armour, he is certainly reward for your efforts. (y)

Thank you all for the kind words! Although I am not as active on these boards as I would like, the efforts and skills of its members never fail to impress me and be a source of inspiration.
Cheers! :)

Appreciate the consideration. The kit was released by Plamax which uses 3d scanning technology in its production. I got this one at Hobby Link Japan last year but may no longer be available, however other vendors should still have them.
