New to this forum, & getting back into hobby after many years away. I realize 99% of these posts refer to larger figures but some info is universal. Need websites to research various uniforms for Ancients & Medieval figures. Wouls like to be as historically accurate as can be at this smaller scale. Currently working with soft plastic figures from Italeri & Zvezda. On a related note would appreciate info on web forums that others have found which deal with these smaller scale figures. Thanks for taking the time to read & hopefully post reply's Todd.

Todd,
Welcome to the Planet, and back to our great hobby! I am absolutely no help in this scale, but I have a question for you. I have a hankerin' to build a Greek Phalanx in 1/72nd scale. Do you know of anyone who makes figures to do this. I thought I saw in passing one day someone had these but I don't for the life of me remember who. Good luck, post some work when you have some to show!

Thought I would add some sites that have been helpful to me in regards to this scale in particular:

http://miniatures.de/english.html#Modellbau - Military Miniatures Magazine/Modeling techniques

http://www.plasticsoldierreview.com/Index.htm - Plastic Soldier Review 1:72 Scale Military Figures *Excellant site to use before making a purchase

Also check out sites for Zvezda, Italeri, & HaT - links are provided to these and many other manufacturers from the Plastic Soldier Review. I have not gotten into the metal or resin figures, or in those below this scale.

Jay, I hope this helps. Todd

Todd,

you might try this link

http://www.najemo.de

Website and discussion forum in German mainly about figures in the smaller scales. Don't be shy to put questions in English, you will always find someone who will be willing to help. There are some quite knowledgeable guys around there.

je_touche, you would think with a last name of Pottschmidt that I could navigate pretty well on a German website. Well the Site translates to english somewhat but not the forums...too late to devote much time right now, maybe later. Thanks for the link. Todd

Todd,

you just have to register first. The site also offers an English skin. Just skroll down to 'How to navigate on Najemo', there you get instructions how to switch to English.

Even without the English skin, all the rubrics are also titled in English, so there is no real problem with using the site even if you do not speak German. There are a few non-German users asking questions in English, and they usually get an answer. ;)
