Thanks for looking

Ulrich

BTW. The second (a French soldier) is on the way from Switzerland to Germany

Nice sculpt and clean casting - the pose looks a bit more tense than in the original painting and his helmet bears a really big spike but these are minor things. So thumbs up and keep the Germans coming!

- Will he be recruited for the "Kaiser´s Army"?:D
Cheers, Martin

Thanks. Alan Ball is the sculptor and he lives in Switzerland. And so only the French soldier will be recruited in "my" army. Perhaps I can show tomorrow the first photos of the French soldier

I can see a whole lot of english prisoners of war along the way to the camp's with the german guards beside them walking along a cobblestone streat in belgium with trees on the side. (cannot find the picture so quick but it is somewhere).
It will cost alot of Tommy's War figure and some of these, but what a great scene

Very nice release !

I ve just one question for my curiosity. Is there any relationship between the 1. Landsturm infantry Btl. Siegen and the City of Siegen in NordRhein Westfalen ? Or is the word Siegen related to 'win' ? (it is perhaps a stupid question but well, I'm curious ^^)

Laurent

No problem, Laurent. The 1. Landsturm Infantry Btl was stationed in the City of Siegen in Nordrhein-Westfalen. And the most members of the 4th Regiment comes from Altena, Lüdenscheid, Werdohl, Plettenberg, Herscheid and the other cities of the old "Landkreis" Altena. And I am living in Altena and have many original photos of soldiers from that Regiment

Thank you Ulrich.

I asked the question because my grandparents were from a small village near Siegen (Oberfischbach). They always lived there and I guess their parents were also from the region. So perhaps some members of my familly were in that regiment. So your figure has also something special for me.

Laurent

Laurent. That would be possible and I know where Oberfischbach is.Here some photos from the regiment. On the first photo you can see the name of the Btl.

The regiment was stationed at that time in Elsaß near Strasbourg. If someone want to paint him as a Landsturm-Soldier please mentioned the shoulder straps had a blue ribbon around the straps.
