I believe the manufacturer was Euroscale. I replaced the head and cut and rearranged the arms and legs. The carbine and the helmet with the kit were a bit out of scale, so they were both "whittled", puttied and carved and the chin strap and the rifle sling was added.

I have this figure too, never know who made though, after seeing yours, I might just pull it out of my "for sale box" and paint it up. You've done a great job, I like the modifications.
 
Thanks all for your comments. Although the figure has some problems, it is one of the few representations out there with WW1 german body armour. I just noticed that the clip I put on the potato masher had broken off and is not shown in the pictures...Oh, well...

The Karabiner (Kar) 98 AZ was shorter than the clumsier standard Gewehr 98 and was used extensively with cavalry, artillery and assult troop units. The hook was actually used for stacking or piling the rifle!!!
