As I have a "slight" fetish for anything Asian and medieval, I just came across this new release on the 1st guards site.

Has anybody else tried any of their figures ?, becaus it is tempting me.....

Richard

I know Richard....I have the same fetish......Santa is supposed to be bringing me a 1st guard mtd from what the Elfs tell me.... I hope....I hope...... <_<
guy

Here's hoping Guy..... I'm dropping hints about their Streltsi.

However, the reason why I'm wondering about the quality, is that the horse doesn't exactly look like it's of steppe origin, or am I just being a bit picky ?

Richard

I agree Richard on the origin of the horse. But I have to remember the "Silk Road" and their ability to acquire horses from all over Asia and as far south as the Arab lands. So theoretically, they could very well of had the bigger, taller horses. Do you understand what I mean?

Guy

I agree Guy, they did get as far as Austria after all. I suppose it's just my image of a Mongol horseman is always on a steppe horse......suits him better ;)

Still a nice figure though, I could do alot with that standard

btw, if you like the eastern stuff, I'm currently working on a 120mm Zhiltsi, (a muscovite version of a winged hussar). I'll post pictures when I've got something worth looking at.
