Hi everyone,

here 2 pieces made by a friend of my painting club (Jean-Marc).
This is 2 flats figures.

1) Incroyable and Merveilleuse (after the french revolution) 75 mm flats

2) War of 30 years (30 mm flat)

I've just made the picture for him. Just for sahring!

Always nice to see flats and these are very good. Thanks for posting them Eric.
If anyone is interested the 30mm Thirty Years War figures are by Wolfgang Bock, one of my own personal favourite producers of flat figures.

That is, I actually believe these figures are interacting with each other.

Light and shades seem consistent, colour blending smooth, and background complement the figures....

These are great! I'm getting quite interested in flats, I never knew they existed until a few weeks ago. Are they only modeled on one side?

James, do you mean flats in general or the ones pictured?
I can tell you that the 30mm Thirty Years War figures pictured above are engraved on both sides. Not sure about the larger French couple though.
Generally speaking most flats are engraved on both sides, however some larger pieces, 54mm and above can be one side only and it is entirely up to the painter whether he or she paints both or not.
