Hi guys, new here, this is my take on the Maurice Corry SAS trooper, hope you like, it is my fourth completed figure in this size since taking up modelling again for the first time in 35 years (about a year'ish plus ago).

First off thank you all for the kind and supportive comments.

What is your impression of figure quality today compared to back then ?

Detail, Detail, Detail, I was raised on the only models available of comparable size at the time that my pocket money would stretch to and they were the Airfix kits of the likes of Julius Caesar and Henry the 8th..
I had never done a resin model and was a bit worried about them, but reading just use superglue etc put my mind at rest, the crispness in detail you get with resin is stunning, I just cannot believe how the heck they mould some of the finer detail where you can see right round the finest and thinnest of straps etc cast on the figures, also the detail on the likes of the velcro on this just stunned me.
Another major advance I found was paint.... being a Humbrol enamel man as a kid I now after trying them use Vallejo acrylics and a hairy stick, I have a set of airbrushes a compressors and a spray booth, but have been a bit scared to try them so far..... I do find I can paint well with just a brush at the moment...... this is a stalled project that is all brush work as an example, though off topic, trying to put a new face on an old subject..

Thanks for putting down your experience Tony, it's exciting hearing about the evolution of figure quality over the years, while in it you can't see it, but such as yourself you can see how much it has grown! :)

Thanks for sharing the Millenium Falcon pics, those look awesome (y)

For an experiment in scale and paint, I think you've done a superb job. I wouldn't mind an SBS in you rusting techniques, as they come in handy for dioramas.
Carl.
