After reaching my 400th review right before Christmas I decided to take a break from them until after the holidays. Naturally I got backed up and will be bringing you up to date shortly with the reviews I have already recieved from manufacturers. My thanks for the patience of Tartar Miniatures, Alpine Miniatures and Ademola Miniatures for waiting until 2010 to bring the reviews to planet members.

I will continue through 2010 to bring you kit reviews from:

Young Miniatures
Ademola 22 Miniatures
Tartar Miniatures
Alpine Miniatures
AuthorSculpt Miniatures
Regimental S4 Miniatures
AC Models
Carl Reid Sculptures
Model Cellar
Stormtroopers LTD

As we get very few comments generated from reviews the amount of clicks on each review and each photo shows there is an interest in seeing the figures photographed for review and posted. As the manufacturers also look and read the reviews let them know you either like the review or would like to see more done in review. Send them an email or send me an email letting me know what you would like to see reviews on and I'll forward on to them.

My 401st review to be posted later today to start out 2010 will be Tartar Miniature's Samnite Warrior from the 4th Century BC.

Thanks to all for your continued support and patience throughout 2009.

Guy, not only are your reviews done with a great deal of professionalism and detail, they are MOST certainly appreciated! I love seeing kits before I buy to check casting detail and quality. Keep up the good work and I personally look forward to more in 2010! Thanks,

Jay H.

Congrats on your 400th review Guy.
Great to hear you will be continuing your informative detailed reviews in 2010.
Thanks for taking the time to bring us these new kits.
Cheers.

I fully agree with Jay!

Guy,
I also think that you do a great job on reviewing the products and with and unbias viewpoint and great photo's.
Thanks
John

Guy, your no nonsense style and impartiality make your reviews unsurpassable. Although you do get excited over Mountain-men.
keep 'em coming,
Carl.

Lol.......compare the amount of new Mountain Men figures to say....Germans.....Napoleonics.......Celts.....Romans........and yea.....I do get excited. I went for years before seeing any Mountain Men released.

I don't know about all that Roc........but here's a check in the mail to ya.....lol

Thanks for the kind words my friend.

Much appreciated by myself- I often see figures/ Companies I would never had come across. The Model Cellar being a prime example.

Hi Guy,

I think the lack of comment on reviews is a tribute to the competence which you display in the text and photography. All the information needed to make an informed decision to buy or not to buy is there, making comment unnecessary.
Keep up the good work mate as you can see from previous replies it is much appreciated.

Keith makes a very good point. Your reviews are so comprehensive there's usually nothing to add except "thanks for the review". I've bought several figures purely on the strength of your review and the pics and I haven't regretted the decision.

Of course the real art to reviewing is to be able to make positive and negative comments without offending the manufacturers where they are justified. Not all reviews are 100% positive, and nor should they be. But even when your find areas that are not as good as they could be, you say so and suggest ways the modeller can address them. That's the real strength and value in your style of reviews.

Congratulations on 400 great reviews and I hope you will continue to provide this invaluable service to Planeteers for many years to come.

With so many manufacturers sending you kits to review you must have the largest Grey Army on the Planet.

Thanks Tony. My main focus is to shoot pictures of what is there. If it has a seam line......Shoot a picture of it. Mold blocks are the same....a photo will tell the newer figure painters what is involved in the kit and preparing it for painting.

The Army does grow each year and I quite often trade off ones I would never paint for ones I would. The largest gray army I know of is in Flordia with over 14,000 in a 3 car garage. I won't mention his name........but he's got a ton....or two.....of kits. Collecting kits, as some of us know, is almost a second hobby to painting them.

What gets us started collecting kits is when we see a figure we like by a new company I have learned the hard way is to pick it up as the company may not last and be gone the next year. I got started doing this back in the 70's ........and still do it, although I am a lot more picky about what I buy now. Quality of casting and sculpting is what I look for in a figure.
