24 The Yorkshire Regiment. 1879

The officer of colonial armies for 1879 - 75мм
24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment.

I decided to have a rest a little from busts on the scale of 1/10 and to make a figure of 75 mm in size. It is my first experience in production of such figure.

A good subject and a good start. You might want to check the title though if you are depicting the 24th in the Zulu War,which it looks like you are. The 24th Foot were 24th (2nd Warwickshire) Regiment of Foot not Yorkshire.

Easy mistake to make with the translation.

It's easy to to tell the difference in the pics though the Warwickshire lads are the noble, squared jawed fellahs and the Yorkshire bods are the slack jawed droolers

I think Steve will tell you Keith there is a close affiliation between the Bear and White Rose in this area as Warwick was a Neville.

Thanks to Richie ( http://www.planetfigure.com/members/richie.6529/ ) consultation I found out questions which were interesting to me, and now I will make some changes and then I will continue work. Not all artists correctly draw a uniform.

Looking very good. I'm not sure about the illustration: wouldn't he be more likely to be holding the sword inhis right hand and revolver in the left? Most swords have a handed guard (http://pooleysword.com/en/Infantry_Sword) which makes holding them in the left hand difficult.

Steve , in my day it was referred to as a 'fore and aft' worn by officers only, however, they never had the trailing ribbon; frowned upon and a bit'sissy'.
