Hello Everyone,
Just showing up my latest WIP for my very first 75mm Figure. Its from Thunderbird, Sculpted by Anders Heintz.
A little bit of messing about with this figure as not totally happy with the figure so he got new hairstyle and beard and I reduced his lower right trouser leg, legging, and redid his right shoe due to it being totally out of proportion with the left.
I also thinking that the Left arm is way too big but decided to leave that be and just concentrate on my painting.
Painted in Vallejo and Andrea.
My photos and lighting wash out the subtle shading but as I say its all still ongoing.
Comments and help most welcome

Andy

Hi Andy,
My favourite period and you are doing a stellar job on this one both with your changes and painting, looking forward to the next update. If I were to offer any advice I would add some weathering to the backside and groin areas. I have always been a fan of Anders work but have to agree about the left arm looks slightly too long? but this could be just a trick of the pose and actually measure equally. Keep up the good work.:)(y)
cheers
Richie

Nice job! The red looks great, and the "right" shade (to my inexpert eye anyway).

Never seen this figure before, it's a new one on me.

Hi Andy,
Nice changes and painting, I suspect the lighting is washing it out a bit and looks even better to the eye, looking forward to seeing it based up and finished.(y)

I may just buy this figure and your observations have been valuable. One brutal question and it's been commented on a few times, are the arm lengths in sync.?? Or given another go at this would you alter the left arm!
cheers
Richie

Richie,..As regards the left arm,..I really would take a couple of mm off as it looks way too long, now I dont know whether thats the pose, or the hand and the helmet that gives the impression of it being longer ( I cant measure now as Im at work ) as seen above I didnt like the right legs position and the trousers seemed too bulky and although I am a admirer of Anders` work this model was very much based on Bill Horan`s 54mm 24th Foot soldier but I dont think he pulled it off as good !

I liked the figure as it was unusual and different to the WWII stuff that I normally do but would I buy it again? ,..possibly not !

Hi Andy,
The basing and weathering really finishes this of very nicely, it look superb mate. Actually viewing the second photo the figure actually look more balanced in respect to the arms.
Very well done, you get the chimp thumbs up(y).
cheers
Richie
