Fabricio, I think you've made a good start on the face. You have several tones showing, and the shadows and highlights on the forehead, around the eyes, and on the upper nose look good.
However, the two highlights at the corners of the nostrils seem, to me, to be misplaced - shouldn't they be shadows, if anything?
On the other hand, it looks like there are two small ridges, directly under the space between the nostrils, that are sculpted onto the face, and could use a slight highlight.
The upper lip line perhaps could also use a slight highlight.
I think you have done a good job on the beard stubble on the jaw line and chin (that's a technique I'm still working on), and there's a shadow under the lower lip - all good.
On the upper curve of the chin, however, I think there needs to be a slight highlight. The contrast between lower lip and shadow under the lip should be enhanced with a highlight on the chin. Kind of a high-low-high-low look as the eye travels from lower lip down and over the curve of the chin.
You might also add a highlight directly above the shadow line on the forehead, or under it - whichever looks best to you - based on the images, you have the base skin tone, and a shadow line, but no corresponding highlight. Maybe it is there, and just got lost in the photo process. The furrow between the eyebrows is handled quite well - do the same for the line(s) on the brow.
Now, to be fair, the images are MANY times the size of the face itself. Things that may look like "flaws" in the photos may look perfectly fine on the figure.
I also need to say that I am generally a fan of the more realistically shaded faces - others, who may like the higher-contrast look, might suggest that you strengthen both your shadows and highlights. In the end, of course, you are the artist, and you will do what you think is best. Which is as it should be.
If this is the figure in the snow by the log palisade, with the blanket on his shoulders, it is the first painted version I've seen. I will be interested to see what you say about the model, and to watch as you proceed with your painting. Best of luck as you proceed! Best regards, Don
