Hello again,
Like to share with you a little projekt I did inbetween two dio's
Did build these figures some time ago now, out of the 'spare box'. Different arms and limbs etc.
They are meant for a bigger dio somewhere in the future (if I come to this sometime, somewhere...)
Shown are members of de 3rd SS Panzer Engineer Battaljon 3rd SS Pz Div'Totenkopf' somewhere in Hungary 1945
Painted them up with my usual approach in Vallejo acrylics. For the wooden parts I used a new technique (at least for me.... Saw this technique used in the 'bigger' scales.) doing first a base layer of Vallejo Iraqi sand and than treating it with burnt umber and burnt sienna oils, 'drawing' wood grain with my paint brush. Works fine, also in this scale !
I used an other 'new' (to me ) technique also on the gasmask cannister and the 'essgeschir'. First with paint from an Edding silver marker painted on, then painted in dark green. when dryed, scraping de green paint of with a sharp knife; Resulting in beautifull small scratches.
Oh, heads is a modified Hornet head and the wounden one from VP!
More dirt comes when they are placed on their final position, sometime...
Nameplate also selfmade with overhead projektor sheet/foil, as is the wooden base.
Pics;
Ice made with two clear plastic shims, gleud together with wood gleu; gives a nice effect
Hope you like it
Regards
Erik
