Recently purchased this great sculpt by Carl Reid from Carls own range,it depicts a Confederate Sergeant from the ACW in 1/6th scale.
It has great movement which I like in pieces by Carl, and was a real pleasure to paint, and the potential for weathering was just my thing.
My piece depicts a Sergeant of the 4th Texas on the 2nd day of the battle of Gettysburg, and the storming of Little Round Top,I had the vision of the repeated charges by the rebs trying to achieve the high ground, this piece, revolver in hand and determined look, lends to this perfectly.
I wanted to capture the grime and wear on this piece,as my confederate infantry on the day showed this, after forced marches into the northern territories then fighting at Gettysburg,
The bust comes with either the Kepi head or the slouch hat,2 choices but I opted for the kepi.
A great piece, some clean up and minimal filling was required.

Brilliant, you've painted so much character into an already impressive sculpt, really gives you the feel for the grit and grime of the day.

Cheers Simon
