Completed 54 mm Celtic warriors, EMI kit

Let's begin with the stunning 54 mm white metal kit from EMI, The Celtic Warriors. I got this second-hand kit from eBay about 15 years ago and left it in the arsenal until now, when it is time to paint.

Thank you for all the hospitality.

I started by painting the pattern on the trousers, then base coat the shirt and flesh. all painting using acrylic.

The original kit has no wall details on the back of the rock wall. I used green stuff to fill in the gaps and add additional details, then worked with base and ground work. The finished base still requires more paint touchup.

Stone work like that will get you a job in the Yorkshire Dale's as a dry stone waller, that looks really good.

I finished painting the base color of the cloak pattern. The shadow and highlight of the cloak are ongoing. The next post might finish the figure with base.




I used several shades of brown to simulate the wood grain on the back of the wooden shield, as the original shield kit is flat and lacks any wooden details.

The cloak is pretty damn good, once shaded and highlighted it will be a beauty. The shield wood grain effect is really good, especially as there was no cast detail.

Nice updates , cloak looks good , perhaps a little bright , but with shadows etc and weathering that should take it back nicely
