Hi Taroc this how i did it. hope it will make sence
First i undercoat all the flesh areas with Humbrol 113 in two thin layers.
Then i mixed Burned Umber with Vandyke Brown and a tiny touch of Prussian Blue oil colors. The mixture was applied straight from the tubes and with a big clean flat brush i removed the excess so the Humbrol color will look through.
for highlights i added Naples Yellow and for the shadows more Vandyke Brown and for some areas such as under the arms and nech a touch of Ivory Black.
Thanks for sharing your technique... I hope to use a "bastardised" version of it some time soon  I would never have thought of using Rust as an under/base coat for African skin.... genius!

p.s. No worries on the mispelling of my call sign... it's only a word...
Now that's a subject in my main field of interest! Really great skintone and it brings up some ideas to me. However, just one thought regarding the open helmet type: are the facial expressions adjusted to represent a man who originates in black Africa?
All the same very nice work, also on the beautiful excecuted shield.
