Saw this one on Rob's elan13 stand at Yeovil Model Show and liked it as it had legs for a change.

Washed and primed him.

Some lovely detail so on with some paint.

I like this one too Geoff, but I got the two 71st HLI, this is on my list though.
I couldn't get it with Pauline looking over my shoulder.

He is nice Bob, if I enjoy painting the leg I shall get some more, then I can use some of my dio stuff from my vehicle modelling days on a nice base.

You didn't manage to drop Pauline off shopping then, bad mistake. Better luck at Bugle.

Geoff

Right then Mr C...

What's all this legs thing .........sneaking them in !!!

Had a look at this and it's a cracking sculpt , love the pose ..based on a Osprey book plate

It is nice and the pose is good too, saw the pic in the Osprey book online so got some ref.

Sorry about the legs mate, impulse buy.;)

I always used to Bob but caught the bust addiction, but this size is really nice.

Geoff

There's nothing wrong with a bust addiction ...lol ...

Don't you listen to that rather wonderful fellow Geoff ...I will keep you on the straight and narrow ...honest !!

Mind you El Bob is a rather most excellent photographer ...not bad with legs either ....lol

Started the painting, I don't know how others use acrylics but this is a way I have found suits me.

With a diluted dark crimson I painted the undersides of the creases to show the shadow areas and the seams on the jacket.

P1130625 (3).JPG P1130626 (2).JPG

Then with a thinned Flat Red I gave the jacket a careful blocking in coat also using a dark blue I painted the cuffs, collar and epaulettes.
Used the dark crimson on the waist sash to show the detail.

P1130627 (2).JPG P1130628 (2).JPG

Used Gold Brown as a base colour for the button details, rank chevrons, collar and cuff details.

Thinned Crimson used on sash.

The cross belt and jacket turn-backs given a coat of white, this will be toned down with a wash of White Grey.

Next thing to do is give the jacket a diluted coat of Scarlet to give the highlights, then when dry another coat of the same if necessary, but that's it for now.

I know that Nap, but does make a change to do a whole figure once in a while.

Yes Bob take some amazing pics of wildlife, but then the Somerset Levels are great for that.

Getting back to bust, my two from Peter at Sarnia arrived this morning. They are really nice and such great value too.

Thanks Nap, just going to have a good look at the Sarnia bust now.

Some more progress in the last few days, trousers given the gold line and then given a darker crease shadow before the couple of thin coats of the lighter grey. Gaiters and boots painted. Citadel Earth wash applied to the ochre colour to bring out the detail.

P1130636 (2).JPG P1130638 (2).JPG

Face painted in my usual Artist's Oils, then the rest of the head painted.

P1130637 (2).JPG P1130639 (2).JPG

Still more to add paint wise, then I will do the sword and the stick.

Geoff.

I have just finished him this morning apart from a base which I think with be cobbled, that will get me back into a bit of diorama work, then I can do the WW1 trench dio for my two Tommies War figures.

P1130640 (2).JPG P1130641 (2).JPG P1130642 (2).JPG P1130643 (2).JPG P1130644 (2).JPG

I'm pleased with working on this scale so will probably get a few more.

Thanks for following.
