Sculpting work is nice Carl but the pose looks odd to me. From how I remember seeing this sort of pose in my head, you put a rifle over your shoulders like a yoke the head tilts because of the weight/pressure from the gun. Even when I simulate the pose here in the chair by head comes forward all on its own and my ribcage tilts down a bit to balance.

Tweaking the side view photo along those lines it looks a lot more naturalistic to me:

Thanks folks for your comments!

Einion:
In answer to your quiery, I think because you were sitting in a chair when you simulated the pose it alters the effects of the head and in turn the balance of the body.
I have also simulated this pose using a broom handle, and I have an entire movement of my head.
I think if you tried this pose whilst standing you would also find equal movement and comfort. But thank for taking the time to offer your comment.

Hi Carl,

Will this be available via Steve Kirtley? It is such a popular subject I am sure it will sell well. I can think of one or two from Leeds who will be in the queue! myself included.

Sorry, don't get what you mean.

I did try the pose standing Carl and the effect is more pronounced. Anyway, people can decide for themselves which one they think looks more natural:

Hi Folks,

Thanks again for your positive comments!

It will be available through Steve Kirtley as usual, just not sure when at this stage, I still have the moulds to make and get some castings out!!!

Carl, first let me say I am a big fan our your work. Secondly, the pose that has been commented on: You have really captured the pose correctely given the fact as former Airborne Ranger and I havfe struck this pose many times. the fact of resting the rife on the neck and in a sence of streatching our back as well as our neck and shoulders you will get this very same pose. It does streach the muscles and when done you are relaxed. I carried just about every weapon and this is common to do to streatch and realx the back and shoulders. Great figures.

nice work on this one Carl and its good to see a full figure as aposed to a bust for a change, not that theres anything wrong with your busts, just nice to see a figure and a good one at that.
