The figure is a 3D sculpt by Nello Rivieccio and sold by Art Soldiers from Spain. Excellent figure and again a period I know nothing about except the TV show "Asterix" so I looked through Google and searched some themes.
The figure comes with the cape fixed the the back which makes it impossible to paint, I understand the reason so that I cannot be recast. That I am okay with. It's made from a brittle resin and I took the bull by the horns and broke the cape off. I have a nice clean break and can now get to work painting.
Now I have got this far and am Loving it. I have done the ground work on the wooden pedestal.
onto the photos.

Now the weather is due to be wet, more painting.:):)

Hi Bob

You do get around the periods of history ....definately not Asterix ...lol.

Great start on this rather muscle bound fellow ( bit like me and thee ....lol )

Look forward to seeing how you do the head trophys

Your a brave man snapping off the cape ..........mouth in stomach moment or what

Following with interest

Happy benchtime

Bob,

That is a cool figure and a very nice start! Following along to see how this turns out.

Pete,
thanks mate, Still looking for inspiration from Google and Pinterest.

Nap,
yes, I was looking in the mirror for light and shadow on muscle definition. What looked back at me was not on the figure, so it was guess work.
Definitely out of my comfort zone, after this one it's back to Napoleonic's.
I have dry fitted the cape and it goes back with the thinnest break line. That will be okay and it's not in a straight line. Thank you for looking in.

Steve,
The pose of the figure sold it for me, hopefully do it justice. Thanks for looking in.

Regards to you all.

Superb figure and a great start. Bit of a change from those Napoleonics.....
