Well, this was a treat to paint.
Loads of undercuts and some great detail. My only regret is that I assembled the figure first, it does need dry fitting and painting in sub assembles.
This is Lt. Hacket-Thompson, a real person who served with the Regiment during the actions at Tel-el-Kebir 1882. He was not KIA or wounded but survived the battle. What else could this figure be with a whacking great broadsword.
I painted the figure in acrylics and used oil for the face, I also used the andrea red set. I'm in two mindds with this but will use it again.
Next time I do a Scots figure it will be London Scottish.
Thanks for looking.
Bob

Very nice, well done on the kilt,
Having done Stormtroopers 42nd officer in the Crimea I can relate to any expletives used. and I have the 93rd to look forward too.
You could always try a piper of any of the Irish Regiments

Nicely done Bob. The base and the sparse groundwork goes really well with the dramatic pose of the figure.
I know exactly where you're coming from on the assembly decisions. As I've got older I assemble most kits as fully as possible, probably going beyond where I should have.
I prefer to deal with a misplaced dab of paint rather than a disastrous smear of adhesive. :inpain:
Cheers

Bob! fantastic painting and lovely colouring.:sneaky:

Although If I may? .. I have a niggle. As nice as the base is! It seems over sized for this piece which detracts my eye and central focus from the figure, In essence he seems to be minimised more than he already is.

This is just my personal observation, and does not intend to diminish your wonderful figure.(y)

Regards,

Mark.

Thank you all for the comments Gentlemen, really appreciated.
Mark, its just to take in the broadsword because my clumsy fingers will knock it off,
Thanks again
Regards
Bob

Cameron of Erracht is one of the two most unforgiving of the regimental tartans to paint alongside royal stewart.

Well done Bob,

I assume tranquilisers were involved to steady the shakes. !

Caber feidh big man! :)
