Hello all. Here's an Andrea classic I completed several years ago all in acrylics which I posted in my intro to the forum. I retrofitted the base and took some more photos. Colors looked washed out due to my poor camera skills so gradients don't convey themselves accurately. Thanks for looking.

The effect you describe appears to be the effect of digital photography. It's one reason that at shows you get figures with such extremely unnatural contrasts - especially figures that are way overshaded.
I'm certain your painting is fine.
Nice job by the way......

Thank you for the kind words. Photography seems to be a secondary skill and I'm slowly realizing that there's a distinction between painting for the camera (especially for competitions), or one's own eyes.

Oh yes, on both counts. Taken to the nth degree, the photofraphy aspect as almost a hobby within itself. And there is such a thing as painting for the (digital) camera.
