Beautiful sculpting and pose. But I have to wonder if his kilt is a wee but short? Most pix I have seen put the hem at the top if the knee cap at the shortest.....some being on the knee cap.

Excellent pose i love it. The modern kilt cuts the top of the knee but Napoleonic kilts were shorter so possibly anything in between is possible for the Crimea. Maybe he has trimmed off a ragged edge? I would personally make it a little longer but it is a fantastic sculpt, it's the 93rd it's gotta be good!

Superb sculpt of my single favorite subject and regiment.

Scotty is correct BTW. Early forms of the Feileadh Beg (Little Kilt) were worn shorter than is the preference these days, as was the early form, the Feileadh Mor (Great Kilt). They rose well above the knee. The convention now is to wear it mid knee, or a little higher.

Some unfortunate, misguided souls feel the compunction to wear it lower (with the top below the natural waistline like hip hugger jeans), which looks ridiculous. Especially so when they have their kilt hose pulled as far up as they can stretch it!
