These two guys are again 1/48 scale. The cop is modelled on a Keystone cop, while the other guy was inspired by a picture I saw on the web. Neither are meant to be representations of real people-I needed a break.

Materials used are the usual MS mixed with GS, A+B mixed with nothing, cast resin armature bits (shoulders, hips, shoe soles, heads and hands) all conected together with annealed brass wire. The cop's billy club is a brass turning, while the belts and hat bands are strips of green stuff previously roled flat and left to cure before cutting strips for these items.

Ray, great work on these two, I'm always amazed at the level of detail work you manage to achieve on such a small scale. The favorite for me has to be the cop. Many thanks for showing.

Cheers Ken

Thank you Ken and Dan,
Funny my favorites always seem to be those everyone else likes best. I'd not make anything that wouldn't be a favorite, except I never know what will be one until the thing is done.

I don't feel all that special working in this 'small' scale any longer, not after having seen the two posts of 1/72nd scale figures today. #@^ Those guys have amazing abilities.

dont knock yerself Ray, still takes a talent to pull of but i agree, those 1/72's are unreal. i really would go blind trying that!!
BTW , dont buy anything from the guy in the Boater; i'm sure i have seen him in our Station. Con-Artiste i think!!! :)

nice work there Ray.

all the best -- tim

Thanks Tim,
I really appriciate it all, especially after seeing your own fine sculpting.

I think you've got the guy pegged though he seemed such a nice chap when we first met. Any idea where my watch went?

Ray

lovely work Ray, i have been contemplating having a go at 1/48 for some time now, no way im going down to 1/72 though

Steve

Thank you Balázs, I'm glad you had a look and like these guys.

Thanks Steve, how are you set up for armature bits and things to make 1/48 scale figures? I could help give you a start with a few castings if you like. Send me a note off line if this appeals and I'll put together a care package for you when I do the next for another mate in the far downunder.

Hi Ray, always good to see your work, and how you go about it.....

Are these rail way 'extras' ? very good, at any rate. One could almost see the cop keeping an eye on our 'shady' character (I keep thinking "The Sting", although the era may be a bit off...)

Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Hello Jaimie
You're right these are more railway figures, the cop is probably a bit early for the period of "The Sting", 1920's instead of 30's, but I don't know that cops stopped dressing like this guy before then.

Nice to hear from you again, thanks for posting.
