This is a Diorama I finished some months ago, using mostly New Hope Design figures I picked up at the White Rose Xmas Bash 2 years ago. The Curassier has a "date" with the lady in the Cart. DSCN0209.JPGDSCN0210.JPGDSCN0212.JPGDSCN0216.JPGDSCN0218.JPG

Nice scene!

How did you do the streams of water in the fountain? I've been thinking about tackling that effect myself on a couple of my fountains, and I'm thinking of using invisible thread (clear nylon thread) inserted in the spout holes, and then trickle my water medium along the thread, to the surface below.

Prost!

Brad, don't know ray's method, but I've done a couple using a strand of fibre optic.
It's stiffer and more controllable than invisible thread.

The Fountain kit contains a length of clear Nylon thread which is quite stiff, and then I drizled down some "Water effect"from Woodland Scenics, which will set. I use the same stuff for Icicles and sheet ice. I bellieve there's not enough sharing between the hobbies of using different materials for different effects, i.e. the model railway guys only discovered Static Grass a couple of years ago!! and I found some paint that contains iron filings suspended in it, which, when dry, you paint over it with a mild colourless acid solution which produces "real rust" on plastic!! regards Ray

Thanks, Ray, it's a good proof-of-concept, then. I picked up Woodland Scenics water effect, just for this purpose. My previous water effect material was a product consisting of plastic (or similar material) beads, that had to be heated. They would melt and could be poured. Too much mess for my taste.

I agree, there is a lot of good material in the model railroad hobby. When I'm among scale modelers, the tip comes up frequently to look in model railroad shops or catalogs for supplies.

Peedee, thanks for your tip, too!

Prost!
Brad
