Hello all, I'm just back from day 1 of Euromilitaire at Folkestone.

Smashing day, beautiful weather!

Unfortunately my camera doesn't do very good close-ups, so I didn't manage to get many good figure entries. But for those that couldn't make it here's a few ambient shots of the show.

Cheers,
Jon.

Here's the competition room, and in the exterior shot you can just make out a PzIV and a Panther.

Here's a couple of the entries, try and ignore the lacklustre quality.

I think this is Tony Dawe's large scale Aussie, and Ken (mil mart) Farrar's re-enactor. The Trafalgar figure was one of my favorites.

The fist two are some new figures I saw on the Friendship Models and El Greco stands, the sculptors being (I'm guessing) Pete Morton for the para, Matt Yates for the chindit and Dave Maddox for the ECW bust?

This panzer caught my eye, but only because it was in my favourite scale of 1/16th.

The bust looks like the work of Carl Reid?

I loving Revell for reintroducing Werner Moldy and his Messa-schnitzel!

Janne, I understand your disappointment, particularly as I've heard that the Saturday night at the Clifton Hotel bar is the best bit! There'll be plenty of schnapps flowing tonight!

Cheers fellas!

Thanks for sharing.

Hopefully, Tony Dawe is having a great time, drinking beer, and sharing storys around the bar.

If that is his figure in the shot, glad to see it made it halfway around the world!

Againm, thanks for sharing the snaps, looks like a great time.

cheers

Just got back from my first Euro! What an experience, it simply has to be seen to be believed. I'd like to give a public thank you to Don, Derek, Brian, Dave and the rest of the scottish contingent who looked out for me and made sure I was properly fed and watered. Thanks to those fine fellows, I was introduced to many of the people whose names I had previously only known here on the planet.

I got to meet Tony Dawe as well, and he is having a great time for those of you who know Tony and were wondering. That was indeed his gigantic Australian infantryman, which towered over everything in category 2.

It's close to midnight now and I'm having trouble typing coherently, so thanks for making Folkestone so memorable. Cheers, and I'll post some pictures myself as soon as I get a chance.
