OK apart from the usual final touch ups this one is done, been a lot of fun and learning on this one as somebody else said it's a very deceptive model that looks straightforward until you actually start on it, lots of tight/hidden spaces that you don't see straight away and many different levels and textures. the next face I will definitely use oils for. The base is one of Ron's fine ones, the nameplate has been brilliantly rendered by Del many thanks to both of them both for the kit and the helpful advice thanks also to Carl for his invaluable advice and before this sounds like an Oscar speech I'll stop  As ever all comments welcome

My only criticism is to maybe push the lights and shadows a bit more on the face. Apart form this you rendered a really cool job on this piece (y) !! The base and nameplate that your amigos got you help compliment a great bust.

Joe

Many thanks Joe yeah lights and shadows really are my weak point I just can't seem to do them yet. Agreed the base and nameplate really finish it well.

Steve

Thanks Brian and Ken my next bust won't be such a popular one for sure so as I don't get sniped by the likes of Del with a better one

Steve

Cheers Del yeah I'm growing to like them slowly I did like the fact they were metal so you could tweak them about to suit yourself (y) Thanks again for the plate too mate

Hi Steve. What I like most about this is the very natural/realistic result. As much as I admire the skill and quality of a lot of finished figures here, theres always a personal conflict with what looks natural and what appears to be techniques and contrasts taken too far, going on in my mind.

Many thanks Frank that's what I was going for with this. I too am not a fan of the high contrast style while admiring the work and skill that is needed to pull it off it just doesn't look right to me. Glad you liked it (y)

Nice Finish Steve ,look forward to your next one in oils ;)

That Father Jack does do a nice nameplate:) only thing is every time I ask him he demands to here my confession first especially all the gritty bits

Ron

Lol Ron sadly I don't have any gritty bits to tell! the fur was oils on this one ;) but oils are definitely on for the next one's face as well. Thanks again for the base and your advice
Much Appreciated

that the big problem I don't have any gritty bits these days :)

Hi Steve,
I bet this looks better than your photograph's:p. Like you said a multi tiered challenging bust, something I would not like to tackle with all that metal. I like the finish and particually the muted style, I appauled your leathers, metals and braids.

Well - are you bringing him to the Sword & Lance?(y)

cheers
Richie
