a little help on a fantasy figure

While cleaning up my hobby room there is 1 piece I would like to re-do . It's a scarecrow that came back to life . I like the boots but think it goes downhill from there . Any suggestions on other color choices would be great thanks.

Hi Samson.
I could tell you how to paint the whole figure,but that would be going to far for me.
One thing I will say,for the ropes highlight them with a yellow ochre/brown mix and then when dry use a darker yellow ochre/brown mix as a wash all over.
