I did a little work on the gorgets and nose ring/ornament a few days ago. There is just a color or two that needs to be added to punch it up a bit more. A little more color was added to the skin areas also. I hope to have this done by the weekend, but I know better. lol

Carl, Thanks. This is the first oil painting I've done. The rest were done in acrylics.

Jim, Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. ~Gary

Looks great Gary. . .

Wow, Gary, this oil painting looks great. Re a colour palette, I love your
choice of colours. Everything looks so rich and dynamic with this painting.
Your additions of the "jewelry" :):) look really good. Because of all the
linear movement in the hair, face paint, background, et cetera, I feel this
painting has so much drama and emotion to it. And that isn't easy to do.
This isn't your basic pastoral Irish countryside with the babbling brook. No
way.

Congratulations. I am eager to see more of your work. And as I wrote this
text here just now, I thought that, actually, there really may not be much
difference between painting on canvas and paint figures. You're still dealing
with light and shadow to create 3 dimension. Hummmmmm. ;););)

A beautiful painting.

K Kid, You're too kind and I really appreciate the kind words. I think I seriously lack a lot of the technical side of being a painter. I usually forget more of the "rules" rather than remember them. What's really strange is I've only painted a little over a half dozen figures in my lifetime. That's where I'm my harshest critic. Thanks again sir. ~Gary
