Hi Dear Friends,
I just finished this piece called "A Matter of Honour - France 1700". A 75mm figure sculpted by Antonio Zapatero for CANGRANDE Miniatures. A real pleasure to work this display.
Hope you like it and as always your feedback is very much appreciated!
Cheers and here are the pictures.
Zeno :)

Brian, Huw, Steve, Joe, Glen, Marc, Bob, Martin, Paul, Gordon and all that you liked the post THANK YOU for your great feedback! I'm glad that you like the display.(y)

Brian: I assume that your question is about the cuirass. The figure is casted in metal so I took advantage and with a brass brush I polished the surface till it was smooth and shinny. With diluted oil paints (black + a little burnt umber) I applied a diluted layer all over. With a dry brush I removed the excess (You can do it with a little sponge too, by dabbing). I repeated the process till I was happy with the result. I let the oil to dry for a couple of days and I applied a very diluted layer of Tamiya X19 Smoke. This dries very fast. After, I applied few highlights over the rivets and edges. Finito. It's simple end effective.

Martin: " Is he duelling? If yes, would it be ok to wear a cuirass for that occasion?" - Not yet, my friend! It's the moment when the offence is delivered... this is the way how I saw it, hence the title. Yes, the duel followed a whole ritual and rules but in this case it is a pre duel moment. It's just made up by me and can go in any direction the viewer wants. :)

Cheers,
Zeno :)

Not the best sculpture from Antonio, strange felling when I look for the face figure...Your talent as usual turn the ugly into beautiful.(y)
