Hi guys,

As someone who has very limited knowledge of the medieval era, is there anyone out there who may know whether the Crecy Richard the Lion Heart figure, could be suitably painted to represent Ralph, Earl of Stafford? Its really a question of whether the armour style on the figure is too early for the Scots/Welsh wars or the Hundred Years War?

Thanks in anticipation,

Steve(y)

Its probably a little early for the 100 years war proper for somebody of Staffords rank and wealth I havent seen the figure close up but am guessing its all in mail, plate had started to be in use by then.

Steve,

yeh, the figure's more like crusader era, great helm, mail, surtout, etc. Just wondered if I could get away with it, artistic licence and all that!! Or whether it would be like painting up a Napoleonic as 1WW!!

cheers, mate,

Steve

It would do fine for a poorer knight or man at arms but not for one of the richer ones I would say

I bow to your superior knowledge!! Thats good enough reason for me!!

Rats!! Now Ive got to find an alternative colour scheme!

Cheers,
