Hello everyone,

From reading the discuss below, it reminds me a problem:
I use acrylic color (in tubes) to paint my figure, yet there is some problem associated:
1) the color cannot attach on the surface well, slight contact will make them peel off.
2) the color cannot achieve a smooth surface.

I know the color i used is quite weird, yet is anyone here have faced similar problem as me? Can anyone here give me some advice?

Thanks very much

Hello and welcome to the planet Titan.

Are you using a primer on the figures prior to painting with tube acrylics? I have found that the adhesion is not good unless the figure is primed, either metal or resin.

I think what Vince uses is the water soluble oils. Maybe he'll see this and confirm. I believe Einion Rees uses the tube acrylics though. I don't know if Einion monitors these discussions though. You can probably find him on Delphi's MedRom forum.

Yes there is a difference. The water soluble oils are supposed to have the same properties as oils, but with water cleanup and thinning. Tube acrylics have the same short drying time as bottle acrylics. I don't know what properties they might have to intermix with one another.

Hi Guys,

i do use oils from tubes too, the Polycolour range. I do prime all my figures though. the mix perfect with Vallejo/Andrea too and you get some colours you won't find in their range.
