Afternoon Planateers
Finished this one earlier this week after a lot of paint/strip repeat attempts. Initially started to paint him as per the illustration, then decided that some brown trousers were needed instead, then thought a nice pale check shirt would work well. . . eventually worked out that from some angles his hat looked a bit small perched on top of his head so cut it off and made a kepi from Kneadatite based on photo's I found on t'interweb.
Anyway having done that I reverted to a couple of greys for the uniform deciding that his jacket would be somewhat faded compared to his trousers and added a dusty red for the undershirt. Unfortuantely broke the handle from the sword whilst cleaning it up, so he's pictured in off duty mode which suits the characterful face.
Groundwork is das clay with some road dust for texture and since I wanted to add some height to the base I made up the slightly beaten old section of rail fence from garden twigs.
Lot's of fun
Anyway apologies for the crappy pictures, but here they are (The contrast between the jacket and trousers is higher than it seems here)
