Nice job. This improves the overall look of the kit. On future Civil War figure projects do not be afraid to shorten the strap/sling for the haversack. It was quite common for soldiers to wear their haversacks higher up and close to the body.~Gary

your alterations bring some life to the origional pose. One small point it may be the photo but now you have brought the left arm away from the body the upper part looks as though it could do with bulking up a bit
He would look good painted in various shades of butternut

Its simple yet very effective. Taking a stiff figure and making a character out of it is not easy but you have succeeded! Looking forward to see some paint on it.
