Acrylics Acw Union Tunics

Can anybody suggest the best mix in vallejo acrylics for ACW Union tunics? I am having a hard time finding the right combination. Thanks

For a base coat I'd go for a mix of Dark Prussia Blue and black.

Although I agree with Edward... Myself, for that very dark blue, I use the following mix of Vallejos:

Base- Prussian Blue + Black
Highlight- Base + Prussian Blue + Sky Grey
Shade- Base + Black

If you want a more 'worn out' appearance to the cloth you can add a touch of English Uniform to the Base mix.

Thanks for all the replys, I have used Prussian Blue with Black as the base colour and it seems to look good. I will persevere with this and post some images when I have finished. Once again thanks to all.

Look at the Reaper website for color ideas. They have some terrific blues, especially if you want a weathered blue (pants). They have a "program" to import an image, and pick out colors in the image, which will match these colors to their paint line.
