Hi,I like to ask some advice/ information for printing a 3D bust please,

I don't know who can do it,and what price this should be please???

Thank you very much

Mario

Hello Mario,
We offer custom 3D printing services. If you already have the file in hand, we would just need some additional info (example, what scale you wish the bust to be) and then we would be able to send you a price estimate.
Prices will vary depending on the size and sculpt of the bust, whether this comes pre-supported, etc.
Just drop us an email at [email protected] to see how we can help.
Kind regards,
Celine

I have had a lot (probably too many :( ) figures printed from stls and if you use a print farm service (best sourced local to you via Etsy) the cost will be based upon:

How much resin is used, ie the bigger the figure the more expensive or whether the figure can be printed hollow (most busts) or only solid.
The quality of the resin used, they are not all equal.
Whether the supplier is full time professional with dozens of machines or an amateur with a printer in his garage.
Whether the final model is "display ready" fully cleaned of printing artefacts or will still need further cleaning and sanding by you.

Find the printers near you and ask them to quote you for the specific model you want. Most will also resize the model for you to suit your specific need or only print parts of a multipart figure, if you do not want a sculpted base or decor scenery for example. This helps keep the cost down a lot.

As a guide I pay between €7 and €11 for a 1/10th or 1/9th scale head & shoulders hollow printed bust in top quality resin and between €10 and €12 for a solid 75mm sized figure. This is from a full time printer in Spain and includes the cost of shipping.

Hey Rob,

Thank you for the answer ,but it see if you don't have a STL file,it's almost impossible,I should have to find a 3D digital sculpture, and it's not cheap they say ,it was for only a bust
nothing else ,it's a professional cyclist I know for 12 years now,his name is Wout van Aert, gonna put a picture here so you can see him ,and like I wanna have him,but
that is of the wish list now ,and like you say,I like to have it a little bit good,it don't must be perfect absolute not ,but if I should recognize him I should have be very very
happy, these prize are absolute not expensive like I see,but the problem is that file.

Thank you very very much

Mario

Ah, you want a digital sculpture not a print then. I have commissioned some sculpts (public domain Golden Age superheroes in 1/48) but as you say they are not cheap and to get a true likeness will require one of a select few sculptors, or for technology to advance 3D scanning sufficiently to create stls from photos..

I have followed grand tour and monument cycling for many years and very much admire Wout van Aert, he is a reflection of the way cycling used to be before Team Sky spoilt it as an individual sport. He and (a compatriot of yours), Thomas de Gendt are two of the outstanding individual racers I enjoy watching.

Well,I must have first a digital sculped before I can let make a 3D print ,and absolute not cheap, so all the hope is gone , yes there you say it make STL file from photo's ;)

I follow the cycling from my 10 years I believe, and I got all his jerseys from Wout, also the green one from the Tour De France 2022 I shall take a picture for you,so you can see it,if you like
and yes,Thomas de gendt is also a very good rider, he ride a long time for the Lotto team here in Belgium
