I thought that these two lovely 75s would look great paired up on a vignette. I'd even chosen the title, "Romani Victores".

So I bought 'em. The Romeo piece first, then later on the Pegaso.

Romeo - ROMAN LEGIONARY 1st C. 75mm (£56.00).jpg$_57.JPG

Didn't quite work out though! Turns out that the Romeo figure just shades 80mm from the base of his feet to the top of his crest, while the Pegaso piece is actually a full 90mm. Even allowing for natural differences in height, they just don't look right together, the Pegaso guy being all around much "bigger".

Never mind, they're both very nice pieces that I'll enjoy painting. Just not together!

That's a shame Steve as they would have been good together.
I've got the same problem with some 30mm flats at the moment. The officer and standard bearer of Prussian Dragoons are just slightly smaller than the troopers I have from a different editor. I'm thinking if I mount them in a frame it won't matter, however that's not an option for you. :D

Steve?
Best laid plans?
I think you are very naughty......
I think the real plan is for us all to feel sorry for you and say....

"Oh well you will just have to buy even more models then Steve,
It will be ok though...you sold loads at Huddersfield
and you should not feel guilty at all".

I bet you an Aberdeen penny to a Sheffield one :D

Paul.

Steve:

That's too bad but I think most of us have fallen into that trap before. Mine was two lovely Jacobite Highlanders that I thought I would pair up nicely. Needless to say one is about 60mm and just big enough to catch the eye. :(
