Hi guys!
this is my first model here.. be clement! :p

It's the Celtic warrior bust by Pilipili, painted in acrilics with lights and shades done by oil.
I've also re-sculpted the hair using the Hardy Tempest's method.

Your comments are welcome! :D

Fabio
a fine job on quite a difficult bust, lots of flesh.
Can I suggest you mount it on a plinth base of any kind, the extra height turns this into a real centrepiece.
Regards

You can see in the first photo a marble plinth: trying to use a wooden one makes the weight unbalanced because of the carnix (carnix+model is 25cm tall!!!).
Anyway thanks for suggesting me!

as you wrote I pinned the Carnix, dividing it into 3 pieces, then building the handled piece by new using a brass tube in order to increase its stability.

About hair: Hardy Tempest's method was my saviour! In the original sculpture the hair was quite flat, soft, not resembling the wind's movement. To add more hair and give it a more realistic shape, all you need to do is to have the oil color that you want to add, and put it rudely onto the soft hair you want to cover. With a needle you sculpt the color while still doughy, giving it the shape you need.
Of course it sounds quicker than it is actually is!
