I just did a double take over gary's post.

I thought I've read this myself and wondered why didn't I thank you as usual for another very interesting thread.
Then I remembered I'd read it in the newspaper on the train !

It's a great story mate, thanks for posting it.

I hope we all get to hear more of the story developing, lots of us have heard the stories of him burying treasure in elaborate set ups with ****y traps and the search for this has gone on and on in my lifetime.
I think I've seen 3-4 documentaries where they floundered along false trails in the carribbean.

It always amazes me when finds turn up that end up to be exactly what the myths were or close to it. When Phillip of Macedonia's tomb was found, his armor and weaponry were exactly as written; Crazy stuff.
