Last night I went to spray primer on a couple of figures and base flesh a couple more. Last time I used my Iwata, it was blocking up too much so I dumped it in the sonic cleaning bath and re assembled ready for last nights session.

Oh dear, it was spitting and making a sound like a tiny doodle-bug and pebble dashing rather than painting my precious figures. So, noticing bubbles in the paint cup, which is a sign of the nozzle not sealing, I stripped it down and cleaned it up again. When screwing the tiny nozzle back it happened, I felt a little click and it just kept turning.

Yep, I have finally stripped the threads of this really badly designed part as the threaded part in the airbrush isn't replaceable but I believe Iwata will repair it.

Tonight, with the figures still waiting for some paint I bit the bullet and superglued the nozzle in and it worked fine to get done what I wanted. However, it won't last so I am looking at a budget Harder & Steenbeck which has a better designed nozzle and a more controllable trigger. It also has a smaller paint cup, more appropriate for figures.

The Iwata has been well abused for about six years so I cannot really complain. Roll on payday :)

You'll love the H&S Graham. It's so easy to clean and the nozzle just pops in the cap so no tiny threads to worry about. I bought the Infinity 2 in 1 and it works like a charm. I also have an Iwata HP-C+ and every time I thread in the nozzle after cleaning I also worry about stripping the threads.
Best of luck!
